Cyclones are separation devices that use centrifugal force to separate solid particles from a gas stream.
The principle of operation is based on introducing contaminated air or gas into the cyclone chamber in a swirling motion. Under the influence of the swirling motion, heavier solid particles are thrown towards the walls and fall into the tank, while the purified gas is lifted upwards and discharged to further stages of filtration or into the atmosphere.
Characteristics of cyclones
Cyclones are characterized by a simple and robust design with no moving parts, which makes them extremely inexpensive to operate, reliable, and easy to maintain. This makes them a popular solution for preliminary dust removal, reducing the load on bag or cartridge filters, extending their service life, and lowering operating costs.
Their effectiveness depends on the size of the particles – cyclones are best at separating coarse fractions (usually >10 μm). In applications requiring high dust removal accuracy, they can operate in multi-cyclone systems or be combined with fine filtration.
Technical parameters
The technical parameters of the devices, their size, and equipment are selected individually in each case based on the technical parameters, available infrastructure, and the investor’s requirements.
We are able to produce any type of cyclone.
