Flue gas desulfurization is a technological process aimed at reducing emissions of sulfur oxides (SO₂, SO₃) generated during the combustion of sulfur-containing fuels—primarily coal, fuel oil, and biomass.
The use of desulfurization technologies is essential in the power sector, district heating plants, and industry, where strict environmental regulations apply.
Key Specification
Process Solutions
Depending on the type of installation, different process solutions are used—wet, semi-dry, or dry desulfurization methods. Each of these requires precise dosing of sorbents (e.g., lime, limestone slurry, sodium hydroxide) and effective separation of reaction products in the form of sulfates or sulfites. Proper preparation and feeding of reagents, as well as efficient dedusting of gases after the reaction, are of key importance.
What We Deliver
- sorbent preparation and storage systems (silos, unloading units, conveyors, feeders, mixers)
- reagent dosing installations for absorbers or semi-dry reactors
- dedusting and reaction product separation systems (bag filters, cyclones, drag-chain conveyors)
- mechanical and pneumatic conveying systems for ash, gypsum, and reaction by-products
- complete automation and control systems with integration into higher-level DCS/SCADA platforms
Wakro’s Specialization
WAKRO has experience in designing and supplying equipment for dry and semi-dry FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization) installations, both for new facilities and for modernization of existing power and industrial plants.
Our solutions are characterized by high reliability, resistance to corrosive environments, and easy integration with existing process systems. Thanks to our flexible design approach, it is possible to adapt equipment to various sorbent types and installation capacities.
