Batch and continuous horizontal mixers are machines with a horizontal mixing axis, used in the preparation of powder blends and bulk materials.
They can be designed as batch units, where mixing is carried out in cycles for a defined portion of raw material, or as continuous units, ensuring uninterrupted feeding and homogenization of the material.
Construction
The structure of horizontal mixers includes:
- korpus (horizontal trough/drum) – steel construction in a “U” shape or cylindrical form, often equipped with inspection hatches
- Mixing shaft with working elements: Ribbon (helix) mixers – move material in two directions, ensuring intensive mixing Paddles / mixing fingers – for fast mixing of loose powders and granulates
- Turbine rotors for highly intensive mixing
- Drive – electric motor with gearbox, usually with a side-mounted shaft output
- Inlets and outlets – for feeding raw materials and discharging the mixer (slides, discharge flaps)
- Additional options – heating/cooling jackets, liquid dosing nozzles, dedusting systems
Technical Parameters
The technical specifications, size, and equipment of the machines are always selected individually based on process parameters, available infrastructure, and the Investor’s requirements.
We manufacture any type of batch and continuous horizontal mixer.
Advantages of Batch and Continuous Horizontal Mixers
Horizontal mixers for bulk materials ensure fast, homogeneous, and efficient mixing of various materials with high throughput.
Additional advantages include:
- Excellent mixing performance Fast and intensive mixing of powders, granulates, and additives in a short time
- Versatility Suitable for powders, granulates, animal feed, cement, and processes with liquid addition
- Wide capacity range From laboratory units to large industrial mixers, in batch or continuous modes
- Easy discharge and cleaning Horizontal body and discharge flaps simplify washing and maintenance
- Low energy consumption Short mixing cycles with large batches reduce energy usage
- Customizable design Various mixing tools, dosing options, weighing systems, automation, and hygienic versions
- Safety and reliability Robust construction with optional ATEX safety features
