Drum dryers are efficient devices designed for removing moisture from bulk, dusty, fine-grained materials as well as materials with varied granulation.
Their operation is based on the slow rotation of a cylindrical drum in which the material is lifted and cascaded by special internal flights (lifting paddles), increasing the surface area exposed to the drying medium. The material moves continuously along the drum, and the drying process is carried out by the flow of hot air or drying gases, directed either co-current or counter-current to the movement of the material.
Construction
The construction of drum dryers may be single-shell or multi-shell, allowing the process to be adjusted to the type of material and technological requirements.
Multi-shell versions extend the material’s flow path, ensuring more efficient use of thermal energy and more precise control of retention time.
Technical Specifications
The technical parameters, size, and equipment of the devices are always selected individually based on technical requirements, available infrastructure, and the Investor’s specifications.
We manufacture any type of drum dryer.
Advantages of Drum Dryers
Thanks to their design, drum dryers provide high heat and mass transfer intensity, enabling effective drying even for materials with high initial moisture content.
Adjustment of drum rotation speed, drying medium temperature, and material retention time allows precise adaptation of the process to the specific properties of the raw material and the required final moisture content. These devices are characterized by simple and robust construction, suitability for continuous operation, high throughput, and low failure rates, making them one of the most commonly used solutions for drying bulk materials.
