Tank scales are weighing devices designed for precise measurement of the mass of material contained in a process tank.
They are typically mounted on load cells that register changes in load and transmit the data to the automation system. This enables continuous monitoring of the amount of raw material in the tank and full recording of changes in fill level.
Applications of Tank Scales
These scales are widely used in dosing processes, batch weighing, material balancing, and in monitoring the flow of bulk and liquid raw materials. They can operate in automatic mode, working together with feeders and transport systems to maintain a constant mass flow and ensure high process repeatability.
Construction
Basic structural elements:
- Tank design
Tanks may be conical, cylindrical, or rectangular. The load-bearing structure is based on load cells. Materials used: carbon steel or stainless steel. - Measurement sensors
Most commonly, compression or shear load cells are used, mounted in housings with compensation elements. - Sensor mounting assembly
Spherical bearings, mechanical limiters, and shock-absorbing components protect the load cells from overload, deformation, and vibration. - System resistant to lateral forces
The design eliminates disturbances caused by friction, structural vibrations, or wind. - Electronic system
Amplifiers and terminals process load-cell signals, integrate with PLC systems, and enable taring, dosing, recipe control, and fill-level management. - Covers and protection
The construction is protected against dust and moisture (IP65–IP68); hygienic versions and EX (ATEX) zones are available.
Technical Specifications
The technical parameters, size, and equipment of the devices are always selected individually based on technical requirements, available infrastructure, and the Investor’s specifications.
We are able to produce any type of tank scales.
